Welcome to my world of photography!
Born in Miami, FL , as a young child I lived in Key Biscayne in a beach house on the Matheson Estate. The area was once a coconut plantation. The quaint beach house was surrounded by coconut palm trees with a few feet to walk to the beach. As a child, growing up with this quaint “beach" lifestyle, the beach became a part of me. This opened my free spirit to later explore and travel to many exotic places. Having pursued a teaching career, enabled me the time in the summers to photograph the world, capturing the captivating cultures on film. These world travels vividly connected the global lifestyles and world experiences to the children I taught, bringing a relevance and significance to a career I loved. My dream was to become a National Geographic Photographer, as their work inspired my passion for photography and the art of life-journaling.
TODAY, Living in Ft. Lauderdale, having recently retired from a 35-year teaching career, I am now pursuiing my passion -- to share the essence, beauty, and designs of nature through my photography. Photography opens up the mind revealing tiny details, lines, angles, uniqueness and different perspectives. Just walking down the everyday increases awareness and enlightens one’s world to a visual odyssey. Life journeys and capturing other cultures is significant in my work to bring tolerance and oneness to a diversity of peoples...and capturing life's art on the canvas that awaits us.
